My first attempt at something cinematic using my new Olympus E-P1 and Lumix 20mm prime lens.
The music is "Arose" by Thomas Newman from the American Beauty soundtrack.

Classic Player 60s Strat

Just a quick bash with my new strat now I've fitted it with 11s. Recorded direct from a Blackstar HT-Dual pedal. My sincere apologies for the out-of-tuneness towards the end, but lethargy being what it is, I can't be bothered to change it!

Taken from the 1997 Later with Jools programme on BBC2.
👌
On a different plain.
5 and 1/2 mins of brilliance 😊
Every aspect of this song is just pure brilliance! You could watch that 10 times in a row and get lost in a different part each time! 👏🏻
Seeing the great Simon Tong is nice too. The whole band rocks this song with raw talent.
One of the best bands live that’s better than recorded imho No sell out!!
This fucking song is why ashcroft is better than oasis
Monumental !
Thank you for sharing just discovered this, been a fan since the '90s when I was younger this is such a remarkable performance Love it!
Buying some feelings from a vending machine. Richard was a prophet
That Strat has some fucking bite to it! McCabe opens up the tonal palate of a Strat like Hendrix did. He’s a fucking genius!
most underrated bass player as well. Ego's broke this band apart, a real shame, they were better than blur and oasis put together
The guitarist is and the band where way better than anything else from that time . A think they where the number 1
Awesome song and performance by the lads...miss these guys, can only hope for a reunion one fine day, if only for a tour!
Great and so Great..🌍🙏❤
Best verve song
Wish it was 1969 and theses guys were at Woodstock
Mcacabe, ashcroft, jones, salisbury....Legend
you have awesome taste and thx so much - i will take a pint and thank you!! cheers and love it goes down like a good breakfast
Emilie sandeE’
Ya still do it to me....after all this time. Ohh yeah.
This song is ETERNAL......🚀
Uploaded 15 years ago, I'm hearing this song and performance for first time. I love it. I love UA-cam.
The band is so talented even their accounted plays the drums
McCabe is a god damn alien
Every day... Every single day I watch this. WoW!
I always thought 2:23 was a simply perfect riff / transition in this song.....so good.
Nick's guitar is like 10-80!
reminds me of black rebel motorcycle club which was after this ofcourse...
These guys were so good live . Leeds Duchess Of York mid 90s ! Almost blew my corduroy bell bottoms off!
Bonnamassa in an incredible player but he's not for everybody...Music is Subjective,,,you can't really compare apples to oranges... or if you prefer Someone else chaulk it up to your own musical taste...but don't criticize Joe...he's a Human Being...or try to keep it constructive OR GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!
building people up by tearing others down...thanks Troll
others have mentioned it so I'm not the first. and I'm certainly not taking anything away from McCabe and Ashcroft who are, as ya'll have pointed out, absolutely legendary. But f me, that rhythm section is filthy, and the last third of the song, when they double time that ish, wow. Absurd.
Check out the Glastonbury performance of this song. Si and Pete are on another level
Here in 2022 still. What a groove. What a sound. Discovered another dimension of The Verve!
Still here ..I come back every few weeks ...a bloody masterpiece..
It's a sonic magnet.
@@geraintgriffiths5711 Absolute masterpiece...
I remember watching this live on Jools back in ‘98 as a college student.
@@geraintgriffiths5711 so true...I keep coming back time and again to listen to this "Bloody Masterpiece". I wonder if Richard Ashcroft realises how how brilliant a moment this was! How brilliant Nick McCabe is!
that drums...😍
All them this is the best performance
Nick mcbabe subline
This guts a leg end my hero my funeral song jalifrezi verve and live forever and cmon people
The only live show I've ever seen where each member of the band steals the show individually, simultaneously.
And collectively.
Until the man comes a knocking ill love this band they speak to me
This is the best the vocals are great but McCabe is the best guitar player I’ve ever heard
Nick Mcabe - Like having a genius octopus with 4 guitars in your band. Verve were the best band of the 90's. They should have been the best band ever. No other band could play live as a unit like they could
I saw them support Oasis at Earls Court in the year this performance was on tv,and they stole the night from them, was a week before UH was released aswell.Unreal
Agreed, saw them back in the day. This is music! What else can one say?
This is what we called Head Music in the US that is we had to get our Heads on Straight!!
I was buying some feelings from a vending machine.
Really wish simon pete and nick would reform and just make blissful instrumentals.no need for an egotistical frontman...these guys are incredible.
Nick is just too good
The guitar was a little too loud here, though. But besides that, much better than the studio version. Had "A Storm in Heaven" vibes.
What I call Rock & Roool
insane performance
the beautiful voice of Richard ashcroft
